Health, safety classes offered

American Red Cross is offering classes at 2125 East Onstott Road in Yuba City. Upcoming classes include:

• Community First Aid and Safety — 6 to 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

• Community Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.

• Standard first aid — 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 28 and 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 29.

Yuba City

Breast cancer workshop Tuesday

The Yuba City Senior Center is hosting a health workshop on breast cancer awareness at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the center, 777 Ainsley Ave.

There is no cost for the workshop. Marisa Graham from Interim Home Health Care will be available to answer questions.

Brownsville

Blood drive Tuesday afternoon

A community blood drive is set from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ponderosa Community Center, 17103 Ponderosa Way in Brownsville.

Donors must be at least 17 years old, 16 with parental consent; weigh at least 110 pounds; and be in generally good health. Photo identification is required.

Yuba County

Bike safety workshop set

Yuba County Public Health is set to hold a Bike Helmet Safety Workshop for children under 18 years old residing in Yuba County at 4 p.m. Wednesday at 5730 Packard Ave., Suite 100 in Linda.

The day also includes children's fingerprinting done by the Yuba County Sheriff's Department

Registration is due by Tuesday. Parents must attend both workshops.

Participants must provide proof of residence and be income eligible.

Children must be present to be fitted for helmets.

Yuba-Sutter

Diabetes support group planned

Participants will be able to work on art projects during the Yuba-Sutter Children's Type One Diabetes support group meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Fremont-Rideout Conference Center, 989 Plumas St. in Yuba City.

The deadline is Nov. 17 to turn in art for museum display.

The meeting also includes Mike Leister from Life Scan who will demonstrate the newest meter on the market, One Touch Ultra Mini glucose meter.
