Wedding: Shimbashi/Westmoreland
Shawni Shimbashi of Coaldale, Alberta, Canada, and Blake Westmoreland of Yuba City were married July 30 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada.
A reception was held in Coaldale, Alberta, Canada, with an open house at his parents’ home in Yuba City.
The bride, daughter of Heather and Robert Shimbashi of Coaldale, Alberta, Canada, was attended by Jessica Shurtz of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Chelsea Westmoreland and Shelby Westmoreland of Yuba City and Kristi Leavitt of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
Attendants also included Tori Anne and Madeline McCall of Yuba City and London Shurtz of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, as flower girls.
The bride recently recorded her first solo album and graduated from Brigham Young University in Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
She is working on a master’s degree in speech pathology from Utah State.
The groom, son of Heather and Robert Westmoreland of Yuba City, had Bradley Westmoreland of Yuba City as best man.
A graduate of Sutter Union High School, he is attending BYU Idaho, studying biology with plans to become a physical therapist.
The groom earlier served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oaxaca, Mexico.
The couple honeymooned in Cour D’Alene, Idaho, and are making a home in Rexburg, Idaho.
