What brought you to Yuba-Sutter? I was born in Yuba City. We did move to Mexico for about seven years, but came back.
Where would you like to live for a year? Mexico — my wife's parents are there.
What would you do with a million dollars? Make a house in Guanajuato, Mexico, for vacation.
Where is your dream vacation? Rome, Italy.
Who has had a strong influence in your life? My Dad, in the way he raised me and showed me to work hard.
Would you share a memory? When I was a kid — about 2 or 3, maybe 4 years old — I almost drowned. I jumped into a tank of water. It had moss on top; I thought it was grass. I couldn't swim and my uncle pulled me out. Without him, I probably wouldn't be here now.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? A mechanic. I started working on cars, on a 1981 Dodge Omni, when I was 14 or 15. It was a weird looking car.
Favorite places to go in the area? Lake Englebright, Bidwell Park and Trees of Mystery.
What would you like to see different in the community? More programs for kids.
What is your pet peeve? When someone cuts me off on the road or doesn't use their blinker.
Who should play you in a movie? John Leguizamo.
What do you like about yourself? I'm a pretty straight-forward guy.
