Letter: Look to Saul Alinsky
One Republican candidate for president has criticized President Obama as a person following the Saul Alinsky model. Do people know who Mr. Alinsky was? I doubt it.
For some of the "low information" voters, the attack on the president for being like Mr. Alinsky is proof: proof of what, I don't know. People hear sound bites and repeat them to friends and relatives as if they know what it is all about. Do you really know? If not, they need to spend some time doing research or stop repeating sound bites. Most folks will be too lazy to look up the history of Saul Alinsky; they already know that it must be something bad.
Perhaps this paper could write an article about him, maybe not. In any case, low information voters make up their minds based on sound bites and that is unfortunate. I guess that's why the president is attacked for being an intellectual. Perhaps we should all be ignorant of the facts and just recite sound bites. You think we could get better elected officials that way?
