60th Anniversary: Davis

Hallwood residents Paul D. and Betty L. Davis, the former Betty L. Webb, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.

They plan a celebration later with family.

The longtime Yuba-Sutter couple met through church in Gridley — where his brother-in-law was the pastor and she was the pianist — and were married Oct. 3, 1952, at the Church of the Nazarene in Oroville.

Originally from Missouri, he retired as superintendent for Lamon Construction in the early 1990s and started farming fruit and selling it at farmers markets.

She was raised in Oroville and retired after 33 years as crew leader for Del Monte and now helps with the family farm.

Their family includes three sons, Russ Davis, Paul Davis Jr. and Brian Davis, all of Hallwood; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
