60th Anniversary: Johnson

Former longtime Yuba-Sutter residents Allan and Pat Johnson, the former Patricia Brown, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows where they were married, at the Methodist church in Reno, Nev.

The couple were married Oct. 23, 1948, and have been residing in Chico since 1983.

He was active in an auto parts business. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a prisoner of war for 11 months after his B-24 was shot down over Berlin.

She is retired from 26 years of service at Pacific Bell.

They have a daughter, Pamela Garnett of Chico, and a grandson.

HOMELESS SHELTER?
Yuba City is considering using the former fire station No. 4 on Walton Avenue as a cold-weather shelter for homeless families. Is this a good idea?
