• Hobbies, interests: Hunting, fishing and working on pickup

• What keeps you in the Yuba-Sutter area? Good people and the small-town atmosphere.

• If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for? Bring all the soldiers home safely from Iraq and Afghanistan.

• Favorite musical group: Brad Paisley

• Favorite television show: "CSI"

• Favorite sports team: The Live Oak High School football team.

• Whom do you most admire and why? My dad. He taught me everything — how to be a gentleman, and a man.

• Tell us about a life-changing experience: Just being on the fire department. You learn a lot.

• Favorite quote: Load up or get left.

• What was your first job? Working with my dad's logging company, taking trees out, when I was 9 or 10. I broke my arm when I fell out of a tree.

• How would you describe yourself? Honest and caring

• What kind of pets do you have? A McNab dog named Hoss

• What was your favorite/least favorite subject in school? Favorite, metal shop: least favorite, everything else.

• What are your favorite places to go in Yuba-Sutter/Mid-Valley/ Sacramento area? Fishing on the Feather River and coon hunting in the river bottoms. My hounds tree them, then I let them go. It gets the dogs in shape for bear hunting, which I do near Oroville. We eat the bear meat and tan the hides for rugs.

• What is your dream job? Hunting guide

• Do you belong to any clubs or organizations in the community? The Landmark Missionary Baptist Church on Larkin Road

• What are some of your fondest memories? Fishing for catfish on Butte Creek with my late grandfather, Dewayne

• What are your favorite foods? Steak

• If you were in charge, what would you change about the community? There would be less houses. Live Oak is growing too much.

• Favorite book: "Where the Red Fern Grows." It's about a kid who gets his first two hound dogs.

• Favorite movie: Anything with John Wayne, especially "El Dorado."

• What is your worst fear? Probably snakes.

• Does anything make you blush? No.
