What is your dream job? This was my dream job, to cook for people. I just hate to clean.
Hobbies, interests: I am a crafter. And I love to cook.
Where do you get your news? The Appeal-Democrat on the Internet, the Lake County News and CNN. The older I've gotten, the more attention I pay to the news.
What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? An airport came up for sale in Browns Valley and we came up in 2005. I was born and raised in Lakeport and we lived in Cameron Park for a while.
Where would you like to settle down someday? My kids want to go back east, so we might follow them.
What is the closest you've been to a famous person? The 49ers during the 1980s. We owned a gas station across from their training area.
If you could have one wish, what would it be? Find a cure for diabetes.
Where is your dream vacation? Disney World, in the winter.
Who has had a strong influence in your life? My best friend of 50 years, Kim Olsen, who died in September. She showed me a true friend is there for everything.
Do you have a favorite memory to share? When we were living in Cameron Park and coming up here to visit family, there was a girl with a white peach stand on Highway 99 outside of Live Oak. It was to die for. By the time we arrived at our destination, we had only a few peaches left and very sticky kids. She is no longer there.
Favorite places in the area? I like stuff like old Sacramento and Apple Hill.
What would you like to see different in the community? I don't know what we could do to fix Marysville. We have so much in natural resources here; we have to let people know about it.
What is your pet peeve? Bathrooms — we allow places with food to open and not provide a place for people to wash their hands.
What do you like about yourself? I'm a giving person by nature.
