Letter: Dark comedy ‘Arsenic' a delight

"Arsenic and Old Lace" opened July 30 at The Acting Company in Yuba City.

The dark comedy is a delightful way to spend a Friday or Saturday evening, or, perhaps, a Sunday afternoon. The show, directed by Chris Collier, is set in the early 1940s and features a dysfunctional family with a passion to "comfort" lonely men in their Brooklyn neighborhood.

The well-rounded cast stars Leslee Meyers, Elizabeth Holcomb, Anthony Dost, Shawn Measles, Jeff Graham, Shannon Doscher and G. Graham Abernathy.

Also featured are Dan Salamone, Harold Whitson, John Trent, Kevin Heller, Mario Johnson and Jason Kaoerlik. Tickets are $15 per person through the, run which concludes on Aug. 22. The Acting Company is at 815 B St.
