Talk Back: Gallery 34, Macy marker

Gallery 34 in Marysville will re-open on Dec. 1 as Art-O-Culture.

Lee Burrows would be completely proud, in love, and on board with the gallery revamp. Art o Culture is genius. My mother, Lee, would want a house of exhibitions to expose us all to ORIGINAL works or art.

— Shaunee Burrows-Kang

Gallery34 was 'a social experiment' that was very educational and enlightening indeed! So much talent came out of this community! The Yuba-Sutter area (in general terms) doesn't have a lot of experience with the arts so we tried something easily digestable first. As the eccentric main course arrives, we hope the glorious weirdos will too!

— Inger K. Price

Wonderful news! I'm looking forward to the opening!

— Kathy Schultz

A stone marker for the first Macy's store in Marysville spells "historical" incorrectly.

I can't begin to tell you how embarrassing this error is to me. But apparently, I'm one of the few who takes spelling seriously. There is no good reason why this error had to appear on a finished product.

— Karen Hess

The AD does this on a daily basis, what's the big deal?

— Robert Ashbaugh

A monument depicting Macys right next to a shuttered down Mervyns. Great way to show the catastrophic fall of Marysville. If the fubar in the 70's could have been avoided that town could have easily been an Old Sac or a Nevada City.

— Shaun Selvidge

Mistakes happen, the problem is going to be fixed so let it go. I think the misspelled word could give it character. That's just me.

— Geneva Stokes Deturbiville

I guess we just can't have nothing nice.

— Lisa Velte
