Letter: Story priorities skewed

What I cannot understand is why a lesbian becoming the homecoming princess is front-page news, but the article about the student selected for the U.S. Senate Youth Program was relegated to Page D1.
It seems to me that this type of recognition is a more positive article about our youth and would deserve equal attention.
