Engagement: Austin/Chavez

Amy Austin and Nick Chavez, residents of Folsom, plan to wed Oct. 25 at the Ridge Golf Course in Auburn.

The bride-to-be, daughter of Steve and Lynn Austin of Yuba City, is a 1996 graduate of Yuba City High School. She graduated from the University of California, Davis with a bachelor's degree in dietetics and earned a master's of public health from Walden University. She is a registered dietitian at UCD Medical Center, working as the patient services manager.

Her fiancé, son of Gabe and Christine Chavez of Nevada City, is a 1997 graduate of Nevada Union High School in Nevada City. He graduated from California State University, Chico, with a degree in business and works as a sales engineer for Shape Inc. out of Pleasanton.
