First baby born in 2013 arrived Jan. 2

The first baby born in 2013 at Colusa Regional Medical Center arrived at 6:59 p.m., on Jan. 2.

Ellie Marie Mord is the first child born to Everett and Leanne Mord of Artois. She weighed 6 pounds and 15 ounces, and measured 20.5 inches long.

The baby was delivered by Dr. Michael R. Goodman.

"We look forward to the birth of the first baby every year, and it is a special treat to help parents share photos of their newborn with loved ones on the hospital website as well as present them with a gift basket," said Terri Slager, Obstetrics manager at CRMC.

"The local businesses and individuals who generously donated items to this year's basket were CRMC Auxiliary, Rhonda Cunningham of Tangles Hair Salon, Davison Drugs, Sue Draves, North Valley Family Physicians, Ohlala Spa, and Pacific Flyaway Quilters."

Colusa Regional Medical Center delivers an average of 220 babies a year and has six private rooms available to expectant parents.
