Letter: Marines law enforcement battalions questioned

Does anyone else see an ominous threat to our freedom in the July 23 Page A5 article "Marine Corps creates law enforcement battalions" in the Appeal-Democrat? Why would the military and the current administration need three battalions of Marines trained to combat civil unrest? Obviously, the pretense is to aid foreign governments in cases of disruption.

Might be handy to have close at home if things don't go right in November. Wake up, folks.
