Letter: Bible teaches me to be ready to respond

Am I incapable?

Recently, in a conversation on abortion, it was suggested to me, that "apparently I am incapable of answering why I have the right to 'force your moral beliefs' onto others."

I'm pretty certain the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America gives me the right.

I'm absolutely certain I receive my "moral beliefs" from studying the Bible (the New American Standard version is my preference), knowing and being known by God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, my counselor. One of my favorite quotes is from Michelle Perry, "I visit earth once in a while."

To suggest the use of force implies violence. I stopped practicing violence a long time ago. If biblical, moral beliefs make one feel threatened in some way during a conversation of a woman's right to abortion, the threat didn't come from me. Perhaps a study on the conviction of the Holy Spirit would help one to better understand why they "feel" the way they do.

The Bible teaches you to be ready with a response "in season and out of season." Maybe it's your season.
