Letter: Where are the bicycle routes?
During the last week of May, I decided to ride my bike to visit my brother about three miles away here in Yuba City. I figured that I am saving on gas, which is soaring every day, contributing to make our air cleaner, and actually doing some exercise. I was surprised to see that our roads are not bicyclist-friendly because there needs to be more bicycle routes.
I believe that the high prices of gasoline are going to somehow benefit us. One way is that by riding bicycles around town, we will experience less contamination and at the same time, as mentioned above, we will be partaking in something good for our health.
If we do not take care of our health, I believe that soon we will be facing an epidemic caused by obesity. One suggestion to avoid this would be to create more bicycle routes here in town and also to provide more bicycle parking racks at our principal and most popular stores or businesses.
