Where do you get your news? Mostly word of mouth.
What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? Born and raised here.
Where would you like to live someday? I'd definitely like to move, but not out of Northern California. I went to Los Angeles one time — Southern California might as well be a different state.
What is the closest you've been to a famous person? A band called A Skylit Drive, now known worldwide. Back when they started and nobody knew who they were, I was good friends with them. I was supposed to go on their first nationwide tour with them, but it couldn't be done.
If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for? At this point, a decent job, a better economy.
Who has had the strongest effect on your life? My grandfather.
Tell us about a life-changing experience: Probably one of the most impactful ones was in sixth grade when my mom divorced my stepdad and I ended up moving in with my grandparents and my mom. My grandfather was dying of cancer, I didn't know my dad — I considered my grandpa as my "dad." Being that young, at first I was really bitter having to move there and watch it all happen, but as it turned out by the time it was over with, it was one of the biggest learning experiences I ever had. It wasn't lessons, it was conversation that made me see things in a certain way and be open minded.
What is your dream job? Something that allows me to be in a comfortable situation and remain humble.
Favorite places in the area? Lately, it's basketball hoops and home. It doesn't matter where the hoops are.
What would you like to see different in the community? I'd like to see the economy go up a little bit more, and would like to see more programs and recreation for young folks to be occupying their time with.
What is your pet peeve? When my CDs or DVDs aren't put back into their cases.
Favorite book: "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton.
Favorite movie: "Donnie Darko."
