What's Happening in Stonyford: If you want more bingo, sound off

By Linda Trombley

For Tri-County Newspapers

I had a visit from my sister Diane and nephew Ryan last week.

They flew out from Chicago and Champaign, Ill. We met them at the airport and spent three days touring and seeing the sights.

When we look at our state through visitors' eyes, we remember the things we appreciate about it. They really loved our mild weather. They went home to record low temperatures, -13 degrees.

Tuesday dinner at the Grange this week is Chili Verde, with Mexican rice and beans. Laurie is cooking. Dinner includes dessert and coffee or punch.

Bingo is Wednesday at 6 p.m. There has been interest in having bingo every week, instead of twice a month. If you are interested, show up and show your support. Talk to Chuck and Shirley.

The Grange's Cake Walk is 6 p.m Feb. 9. It will have a Valentine's theme. There will be snack bar with hot dogs, chili dogs and treats for the kids. If you can donate a cake or a baked item, get in touch with Shirley.

Valentine's Day Dinner is presented by the Stonyford Community Church at 6 p.m. Feb. 14. It will be a change from the usual. This year it's lasagna, garlic bread, antipsto and dessert for $6. Kathy Peake, a famous musician, will be providing musical entertainment.

This has been a sad season for American Icons. Atari, an earlier leader in video games such as Asteroids and Frogger, has filed for bankruptcy, and Hostess has already closed its doors.

Let's have a moment of silence for Ms. Pacman and the Twinkie.?
