90th Birthday: Conant
Longtime Yuba-Sutter resident Ann Conant is celebrating her 90th birthday with family including her siblings and others from Philadelphia, New York, Texas and Arizona.
Born Feb. 21, 1922, in Germany, she immigrated to the United States with her family in 1925 and grew up in Philadelphia.
While serving with the U.S. Navy Nursing Corps during World War II and the Korean War, she met and married her husband, the late Ernest R. “Bud” Conant, who was also serving in the Navy, in Japan.
The couple moved to Rio Oso, his hometown, after retiring from the Navy in 1952.
Her pastimes include gardening and playing bridge.
Her family includes five children, Mat Conant of Rio Oso, Joe Conant of East Nicolaus, Lisa Mort of Folsom, Ernest Conant of Bakersfield and Tim Conant of Kelseyville; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
