Letter: School board speaker was off the mark
I was in attendance at the Marysville school board meeting on Nov. 13 and listened to the beginning of the speech and slideshow that was delivered by a Marysville Unified Teachers Association officer. A statement was made that the board of trustees needed to "FIX" the money matters that involve the teachers. This same person stated that they had no money left in their bank account as of that day.
I seem to remember my elders telling me that you should clean your own doorstep before attempting to clean someone else's. The speaker's household includes two healthy salaries. How can one not have any money in their bank account by the 13th of any month? Something needs "FIXING" there!
The presentation was so negative that I left the board meeting before the speaker was finished. The board was ridiculed continuously by the slideshow and the words spoken. What happened to the saying that one gets more with honey than vinegar? MUTA, you need to do some real soul searching!
