Buick stolen in Olivehurst during violent carjacking

Yuba County investigators are asking the public’s help locating a vehicle stolen today in Olivehurst during a violent carjacking.

A man driving a white Buick sedan was rammed twice around 11 a.m. in the 5000 block of Chestnut Avenue by an older primer grey Ford Mustang, Sheriff Steve Durfor said in a press release.

The victim, whose name was not released, was pulled to the side of the road when the Mustang rammed the driver’s side of his car. The victim exited his vehicle just as the Mustang rammed his car a second time and narrowly missed him. The victim ran away. No injuries were reported, the sheriff’s department said.

A passenger from the Mustang then climbed into the victim’s Buick and drove off.

Deputies said the vehicles were last seen around Chestnut and Erle roads. The license plate of the Buick is 3WDT456.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department at 749-7777.
