Virgil Bushyhead
Virgil “John” Bushyhead, 72, of Biggs died Jan. 1, 2006, at Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital in Gridley.
Born in Blackwell, Okla., he was a Mid-Valley resident for 35 years.
He was a truck driver hauling produce.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Biggs and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Estella Bushyhead of Biggs; three sons, Virgil Dalton Bushyhead and Val Lee Bushyhead, both of Biggs, and Victor Robert Bushyhead of Oroville; two daughters, Tonya Lee Bushyhead of Oroville and Terena Jane Bushyhead of Biggs; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Marie Bushyhead; and a sister, Wava Marie Bushyhead.
Service: A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel in Gridley.
