Sandy Boyd is Star Caregiver
Sandy Boyd, a patient care technician, was named as the Shining Star Caregiver for Yuba City Dialysis, a DaVita Inc. facility in Yuba City.
The Shining Star Caregiver program was started in 2003 to promote the company's core value of service excellence. DaVita is a leading provider of kidney care services.
Pesticide jug dropoffs slated
The Sutter/Yuba County Agriculture Commissioner's empty pesticide container recycling program for 2008 will start March 31 at the Grower's Ag Service, 2100 Everglade Road in Yuba City.
Containers can be taken to the ag service by appointment only. The containers must be triple-rinsed.
Other dates and locations for recycling are:
• April 22 — John Taylor Fertilizer.
• June 24 — Big Valley Ag in Gridley.
• July 29 — Bear River Supply.
• Sept. 9 — Helena Chemical.
The "Kill the Bug, Recycle the Jug" program is open only to farmers and growers in Colusa, Sutter, Yuba, Nevada and Butte counties.

Free equine massage therapy classes are part of the upcoming Animal Event Day planned at Four Corner Feed in Bangor.
