Airman David P. Calkins Jr.

Airman David P. Calkins Jr. is the son of David and Michele Calkins of Sutter. He is the brother to Brandi and the grandson to Pat Calkins and Paul and Sandy La Brue, all of Sutter.

Calkins attended Sutter Union High School and was active in football, track, drama and FFA.  He graduated in 2007.  He was an avid snowboarder and was an instructor at Boreal Ridge Ski resort.

Calkins joined the Air Force in January and graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, as an expert marksman.  He is currently attending tech school at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., to become a heavy equipment operator.
