Letter: Gold Sox camp earns high praise

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Three cheers to Mr. Jack Johnson and the Gold Sox team players. My son just finished the three-day youth skills baseball camp and had the time of his life. Mr. Johnson and every Gold Sox player ran a first-class program.

They were all wonderful mentors for our young children, and provided invaluable skills and memories to every child at the camp. My son especially looked up to his coach, No. 13 Kristian Sifuentes, and summed it up best — "He Rocks!" Thank you, Mr. Johnson and every Gold Sox player, for taking time from your busy schedules and making such a positive impact on every child that participated in your camp. You are all true professionals.

HOMELESS SHELTER?
Yuba City is considering using the former fire station No. 4 on Walton Avenue as a cold-weather shelter for homeless families. Is this a good idea?
Yes. We've gone too long with limited options for homeless families.
It's a good idea, but the fire station is a bad location for this.
No. The city has better things they can use the building for.
I'm not sure.
