Alejandro S. Cardenas
Alejandro S. Cardenas, 72, of Oroville died April 27, 2006, at Oroville Hospital in Oroville.
Born in Temastian, Jalisco, Mexico, he was a Butte County resident.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Avelina Cardenas of Oroville; three sons, Jose Cardenas, Fernando Cardenas and Benito Cardenas, all of Olivehurst; a daughter, Lucy Stiles of Yuba City; a brother, Irineo Cardenas of Los Angeles; and three sisters, Andrea Cardenas-De Perea of Riverside and Nolberta Cardenas-Frausto and Marina Cardenas-Gonzalez, both of Mexico; 10 grandchildren; six grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Services: A rosary is at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by visitation, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1560 Hazel St., Gridley. A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10 a.m. Monday, also at the church. Rev. Miguel Silva of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate. Burial is at Live Oak Cemetery in Live Oak. Arrangements are under the direction of Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
