Business Briefs: Local BBQ Co. opens Yuba City site
The Local BBQ Co. has opened its second restaurant, adding a site at 567 Second St., near Bridge Street, in Yuba City.
Featuring authentic Memphis barbecue, the business' main site is in Georgetown, between Placerville and Auburn.
The restaurant, open Mondays to Saturdays, also plans to offer fundraising days on Wednesdays for nonprofits, said owner/chef Lee Saldivar.
Saldivar has seven years of experience in the catering business, plus 20 years in event production. He opened the Georgetown restaurant almost a year ago.
His father, Jesse Saldivar is the manager of the Yuba City restaurant.

Prestige Care senior facility earns award
Prestige Care has received the 2012 Innovators Award from the International Council on Active Aging for its Expressions Memory Care program.
The company operates more than 70 senior living communities and skilled nursing care centers in the Western US including at 515 Harris St. in Marysville.
"Expressions" is a life-affirming activities program for persons with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
The program was created in collaboration with David Troxle, a nationally recognized expert on demential disease care.
McLemore named VP at Sunsweet
Jeff McLemore has been promoted to the position of Sunsweet Growers Inc.'s vice president of North America marketing.
He has been with the Yuba City-based business for eight years, working directly with almost every new Sunsweet product introduction for the domestic market.
Before joining Sunsweet, McLemore was director of category management at Dole and information analyst for Hartz Mountain.
He has a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
