Letter: Vann offers chance to change
The recent gerrymandering of our congressional district has left Sutter and Yuba counties in the lurch. We lost our Congressman (Wally Herger) who has been a champion of our conservative values, and replaced him with a career politician, John Garamendi. Although he may be a decent man, he has never held a job other than that as a servant to government. His career has always been attached to political compromises and the same old buddy system that has created the chaotic mess we have in Washington, DC, today.
What this community needs is a fresh face with innovative ideas — a representative who would distance themselves from the old "cronyism" that has invaded our nation's capitol. Kim Vann offers us just that.
She is from an established farming family who understands the needs and challenges of today's farmers. She realizes that farming is a serious business and has its own set of problems which are not always understood or appreciated by the average politician. This area is a farming community and we need the experience and knowledge that Vann has shown in her short political career.
We need a fresh face and a bold approach to the challenges that face our community. Join me in supporting Kim Vann for the Congressional 3rd District on Nov. 6.
