40th Anniversary: Carmichael

Marysville residents Robert and Pamela Carmichael, the former Pamela Kitchen, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in San Francisco.

The couple met when he returned from serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam War and were married six weeks later on Sept. 25, 1971, at the Church of the Nazarene in McKinleyville.

Yuba-Sutter residents since 1978, both are graduates of McKinleyville High School, he in 1968 and she in 1971.

He is a retired truck driver.

She has had a child care business in their home for the past 34 years.

The couple enjoys riding on his Harley Davidson, spending time with family and visiting their favorite vacation spot, Disneyland.

They have three children, Kevin Carmichael of Yuba City and Sherry Larsen and Justin Carmichael, both of Marysville. Their family also includes six grandchildren.
