Dan E. Carpenter
Dan E. Carpenter, 75, of Wheatland died July 20, 2005, at his residence.
Born in Abilene, Texas, he was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 20 years.
He retired from Operating Engineers Local No. 3 as an operator and business agent.
He served two years as a director for the Yuba County Water Agency and four years as a director of the Plumas Brophy Fire Protection District.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jeannie Carpenter of Wheatland; three daughters, Melony Reed of Atwater, Brenda Brodie of Carmichael and Janice Wenz of Wasilla, Alaska; a brother, Jay Carpenter of Winnemucca, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Glenn Carpenter.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wheatland First Christian Church, 215 Main St., with Rev. Denis O'Connor officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Holycross Memorial Services in Yuba City.
