Letter: A giant roar for Faith Christian grads

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Just when I was complaining to my wife about all the full-page ads in the Appeal-Democrat this past week — "That's all I see in the paper this week...ads, ads and more ads" — along comes a beautiful full-page showing the new graduates of Faith Christian School.

We personally know only one of the graduates, Derek Strain, but know his father, his deceased grandfather, Fritz Strain of Arbuckle, and also his deceased great-grandfather, "Pop" Shutz, also of Arbuckle/Grimes. How proud they would be of his accomplishments.

I also read all the footnotes of the seniors and was amazed all had "on to college" in their future plans. What an amazing class of young people. Not only should the students all be commended for their goals, but also their parents, teachers, school administrators, church and the whole community of Faith Christian education, for instilling not only proper goals in their lives, but also their love of God as mentioned in their quoted favorite bible scripture.

Please note we are not members of Faith Christian Church, but so proud of their accomplishments in educating this wonderful group of youths.

God bless you!

BACK TO SCHOOL?
The new GI Bill benefits vary from state to state depending on tuition and fees, replacing the previous flat stipend, and also includes a formula for private college assistance. Do you agree with this approach?
Yes, it allows veterans more choices of where to attend college.
I like it, but the private school policy is flawed in California.
I think it's too generous.
No, it pits states against each other.
