Nazarene sets kids celebration
The Kids for Christ Celebration, with a costume contest, games and food, is set from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hallwood Community Church of the Nazarene.
No scary costumes allowed.
Activities also include a silent auction and chili and pie contests.
Admission is $15 per family or $3 per person; and free for children infant to 5 years old.

End of life workshop set
Hospital and hospice care, wills and trusts and insurance and financial securities are the topics of an "End of Life Decisions" workshop hosted by Faith Lutheran Church, 1000 D St., Marysville.
Funeral planning and church service planning are also part of the workshop.
The workshop is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 3. Admission and lunch are free.
Speakers include Melissa Knight, hospital chaplain; attorney Amy E. Byrne; Ken Gleason of Thrivent Financial Insurance; Dan Gray of Lipp and Sullivan Funeral Home; and Pastor Berni Fricke.

Presbyterians schedule holiday craft fair
The St. Andrew Presbyterian Church's Holiday Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at 1390 Franklin Road, Yuba City.
Items for sale will include children's wear, English toffee, yard art, baked goods and workworking products, plus lunch items.
Election pray and fast event planned at Baptist church
Sutter Baptist Church is offering a time and place for the public to pray and fast before casting their vote on Nov. 6.
The church, on Mulberry Street in Sutter, will be open 24 hours, from 8 a.m. Nov. 3 to 8 a.m. Nov. 4.
On Sunday participants will break their fast with Holy Communion at 8 a.m., followed by a pancake breakfast in the Fellowship Hall and worship at 11 a.m.

Community choir festival set for Sunday
The ninth Annual Christian Community Choir Festival is at 7 p.m. Sunday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1470 Butte House Road, Yuba City.
Participating church choirs include Bethel African Methodist Episcopal, Marysville First United Methodist, St. Andrew Presbyterian and First Presbyterian in addition to the host church's Stake.
Admission is free, with light refreshments served after the performance.
