Letter: Mega-church article, Olivehurst operation appreciated
Great article on Oct. 27 in Faith and Family about "Mega-church seeks to make mega footprint."
The residents of Yuba-Sutter have their very own little church already making a huge footprint in Olivehurst. I commend their efforts and wish them tremendous success with their program.
Numerous studies have proven folks in recovery do best in a faith-based program with a firm foundation of spiritual growth and leadership firmly grounded in faith such as the Salvation Army.
Fathers First is such a model and is operating in the Yuba-Sutter community under truly inspiring leadership at Truth Tabernacle Church, and has been for a long time. This group of outstanding men and women are involved in many local activities such as jail and juvenile hall ministries.
Anyone interested in true rehabilitation grounded on a firm foundation of spiritual growth and a character-based curriculum does not have to go far from home to participate in a successful program such as Mothers First, Fathers First and the Salvation Army.
Please support these fine programs this holiday season.
