Olivehurst
Thanksgiving comedy planned
New Life Assembly is presenting the Pattersons in "Being Thankful," a comedy celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday.
The story is about a family who faces unexpected events while waiting for a delayed flight on their way to New York for Thanksgiving.
The performance is at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church, 5736 Arboga Road, Olivehurst.
Admission is free, with donations accepted.

Dobbins
Adventists host film premiere
The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Dobbins is hosting a premiere viewing of "The Creative Eye," a short film based on scriptural prophecy, today.
Two showings are set, at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., with lunch in between, at 10034 Marysville Road, Dobbins.
Admission is free.
Based on Scripture suggesting a returning messiah from Isaiah 53:1-6, the film features four scenarios and asks viewers to ask themselves how they'd react. Producer James Constantine, and possibly actors from the film, will be at the screening to share their thoughts.
Yuba City
Musical comedy set at Glad Tidings
"West of Philly," a musical comedy set in the early 1920s, is set for five nights at the Embassy Theater at the Church of Glad Tidings in Yuba City.
Presented by Creative Light Theater, the story about a man dreaming of supporting his family by writing the next big sensation on Broadway is at 7 p.m. daily Dec. 7 to 11 at 1179 Eager Road.
Admission is free, with donations accepted.

Christmas craft fair planned
A Christmas craft fair to benefit The Father's House is planned Dec. 8 at The Spot, 10720 Live Oak Blvd., Live Oak.
With handcrafted items, games and homemade food, the event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Vendors can rent a space for $10.

Church plans 'Big Give Away'
"The Big Give Away" to provide clothes, toys and food to families in need is being hosted by the Calvary Christian Center, Plumas Lake/Olivehurst.
The event is from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at 4902 Powerline Road, Olivehurst.

Keepsake photos of children offered
The First Lutheran Church in Yuba City is offering the public free keepsake pictures of your child in a handpainted manger scene with baby Jesus.
Photos will be taken from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays Dec. 5, 12 and 19; 3 to 5 p.m. Thursdays Dec. 6, 13 and 20; and 3 to 5 p.m. Fridays Dec. 7, 14 and 21.
