Loma Rica
Browns Valley girl honored
Ashley Harrington of Browns Valley received The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Young Womanhood Recognition award for completing the Personal Progress program.
She is a member of the Loma Rica congregation.
Her project included learning how to play the ukulele, writing a song and performing it at church.
A senior at Gridley High School, Harrington is active in choir, drama, band and cross country track. She is the class president of the Young Women's Laurel class in the congregation.
Sutter
Methodists host potluck dinner
Sutter United Methodist Church is hosting its annual corned beef and cabbage potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The traditional dinner of corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes will be served.
Dinner is free and attendees are asked to bring a salad or dessert to share.
Guests are encouraged to write a funny limerick to share.
The church is located at the corner of Acacia Avenue and South Butte Road in Sutter.

Wrestling benefit planned Friday
March Madness 15: Steel Cage Madness, a wrestling fundraiser, is set for 7 p.m. Friday at the Calvary Christian Center gymnasium, 2620 Colusa Hwy., Yuba City.
With the doors open at 6:30 p.m., the event features wrestlers from Yuba City and Sacramento.
Five matches are planned with the card subject to change.
Tickets are $4 for general admission and $5 for ringside tickets.
All proceeds will benefit missionaries serving in Jamaica.

Trinity Anglican hosts guest
Assisting Bishop Frank Lyons from the Pittsburg diocese will be a guest of honor Sunday at Trinity Anglican Church.
Service begins at 8:30 a.m. at the church, 1302 Hooper Road, Yuba City.
The service will honor Lyons who has supported the church since it's conception.

LDS church plans Easter event
"We Talk of Christ," an Easter celebration, is planned for 7 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
A presentation of the Savior's life through words, pictures and song is planned.
The free event includes live music by the Family Capps.
Light refreshments will be served.
The church is located at 1470 Butte House Road, Yuba City.
