Buddhist church observes event

The Marysville Buddhist Church will observe Ho-onko and the November monthly memorial service Sunday, with guest speaker the Rev. LaVerne S. Sasaki of San Bruno.

The service is at 10 a.m. at 125 B St. in Marysville. Lunch will be served following the service.

Yuba City

Adventists host free dinner

The Seventh-day Adventist Church of Yuba City will host its fourth annual free Thanksgiving Dinner for the Hungry at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Adventist Christian School gymnasium, 369 Harding Road, Yuba City.

Donations of gently used, warm clothing and sleeping bags will be accepted at the same time, for later distribution.

Sutter

Methodists stage church work day

Sutter United Methodist Church is having a work day Wednesday in preparation for Thursday's Turkey Dinner.

The work day begins at 2 p.m. at the church, corner of Acacia Avenue and South Butte Road in Sutter.

The annual turkey dinner is at 5 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Yuba City

St. Andrew hosts Taize service

St. Andrew Presbyterian Church will hold its monthly Taize service and healing prayer Friday.

Planned from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., the service will be in the chapel at 1390 Franklin Road in Yuba City.

Held the third Friday of every month, the service is a Christian program of prayer with singing, Scripture, silent prayer and meditation.

Church moving to new location

Love of Calvary Church in Colusa is moving to a new location effective Nov. 22.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Sundays and 7 p.m. Wednesdays at Burchfield Primary School, 400 Fremont St., Colusa.

Methodists plan rummage sale

The Fall Rummage Sale hosted by the First United Methodist Church in Yuba City is set Friday and Nov. 21 at 3101 Colusa Highway.

Sale hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The event also includes baked items available for purchase and free coffee.

LDS seeks nativity scenes

Community members are invited to loan their nativity scenes for display during the 11th annual Creche Exhibit presented by the Yuba City Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Participants should notify Betty Knorr at 673-6588 by Nov. 21.

The four-day exhibit will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 a.m. Dec. 3, 4 and 5 and from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at the stake center, 1470 Butte House Road in Yuba City. Admission is free.
