Marysville
MCAA choir sings at Art Club
The Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts choir, under the direction of Zenobia Brown, is performing at this month's meeting of the Marysville Art Club.
The luncheon meeting is at noon Monday at 420 10th St., Marysville.
Lunch features pork loin and all the trimmings.
The club is also asking for donations of canned goods to give to a local group in need.

Yuba City
River Valley seniors in parade
Three seniors from River Valley High School in Yuba City took part in the 86th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Shelby Westmoreland, Katy Danna and Kate Kelly were invited through the Universal Cheerleaders Association cheerleading camp held in June at Squaw Valley.
The three students are captains of their cheerleading squad.
While in New York, the students visited various sites including the Empire State building and Times Square and saw the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.
Yuba City
Girls on the Run event set Dec. 8
The Girls on the Run of Sutter County 5K run/walk is set Dec. 8 at the Yuba City Town Center fountain at B Street and Plumas Boulevard in Yuba City.
The event, from 9-10 a.m., is sponsored by the Soroptimist Club of Marysville/Yuba City.
Costs for the race/walk are $12 for ages 14 years and under and $25 for 15 years and over.

More than 100 girls in grades third to eighth have been taking part in the program that combines training for the run/walk with healthy living education.
