Occupation: Work at Youngsters Inc. gymnastics studio in Yuba City and I am a senior at River Valley High School and on the cheer squad.

Latest event you've done with cheerleading: I took part in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City — our cheer coach chose us.

Favorite part of the trip: Walking down the streets during the parade and seeing people hanging out the windows, waving.

What do you like about yourself? I take opportunities that are given to me, like the trip to New York. A couple of years I would have been afraid to leave mom's side.

Hobbies, interests: I love baking.

Where do you get your news? Appeal-Democrat and Internet. I watch the "Today Show" every morning before school.

What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? My dad and grandpa own a business. I've lived here my whole life.

What do you like about the Yuba-Sutter area? I know everyone.

Where would you like to live for a year? Boston — I like the weather; (the city) seems so interesting.

What would you like to see different in the community? I don't want so much construction. Everywhere you look, there's construction.

Goal for the new year: To smile more. I tend to be grumpy a lot, so I want to be nicer to people.

What is the closest you've been to a famous person? I know the cheer captain for Sacramento State — he used to choreograph our routines. And, a relative is an editor for DreamWorksAnimation.

What would you do with a million dollars? Buy mom a nice house, give some to charity, take a trip to Italy.

Where is your dream vacation? Visit Auschwitz – I used to want to do research on the Holocaust. There’s so much history.

Who has had a strong influence in your life? My mother. I don’t think I could be where I am now without her.

Favorite places to go to in the Yuba-Sutter area? To Sutter – my aunt and uncle live there.

What is your dream job? I want to cheer in college. I am interested in psychology.

Do you belong to any clubs or organizations in the community? Interact Club at school. For cheer we do a lot of volunteering.
