Matt Michaelis, Marysville's administrative services manager, said his dream job would be as a national park tour guide.

Matt Michaelis

Name: Matt Michaelis.

Age: 32.

Family: Wife, Autumn, and five sons, age 8 and under.

Residence: Yuba City.

Occupation: Administrative services manager for the city of Marysville.

Hobbies, interests: I am a musician — have been playing the piano for the past 15 years and the guitar for three — and in the band Spork. We have local gigs.

Where do you get your news? Mostly Internet — the Appeal-Democrat for local news and CNN for national.

What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? I've been here for seven months. I grew up in King City in Monterey County, did a mission for the church in France for two years, went to school in Utah for six years, my first job was in a city in Florida doing the same type of job as here, and in Oregon for four years.

Where would you like to go back to for a while? I've lived around so much I'm satisfied to be here for a long time.

What is the closest you've been to a famous person? I once got into a rap battle with Shaquille O'Neal. I won, and then I heard the alarm clock.

What would you do with a million dollars? I would give employees at the city of Marysville a well-deserved raise. Then I would build a recording studio.

Who has had a strong influence in your life? My church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and my dad as a city manager in Southern California.

Do you have a favorite memory to share? My honeymoon with my wife of 10 years. We were in South Padre Island, Texas.

Favorite places to go to in the area? We love La Porte and love being close to Sacramento.

What is your dream job? National park tour guide.

What is your pet peeve? Brushing your teeth before breakfast, as opposed to after breakfast.

What do you like about yourself? That I can listen to other people's points of view without getting upset.

What TV show weren't you supposed to watch when you were a kid? "The Simpsons" — my parents frowned on it; but I've made up for it since.
