Yuba City PD investigates shooting incident

Yuba City police are investigating a shooting incident from Wednesday night on Melton Drive.

Officers responded just after 8 p.m. to the 1200 block of Melton Drive and located several glass fragments and one shell casing, police spokeswoman Shawna Pavey said.

“We believe there may have been a vehicle possibly involved,” Pavey said Thursday.

There were no reports of injuries.

Witnesses and residents were not forthcoming with information, police said.

Police are frequently called to that area of Melton Drive, making numerous arrests, many on gang-related charges, according to police and Appeal-Democrat records.

Officers are asking for the public’s assistance to identify the people involved in Wednesday’s incident.
