Letter: Not much to do here in Yuba City

I have lived in Yuba City for 10 boring years.

I have lived all over California, but I have to say that Yuba City/Marysville is the most boring nothing-to-do-town I have ever been in. It is no wonder to me why there is so much teen vandalism here.

There is nothing for the kids to do. Gauche Aquatic Park that was recently built is a joke; one water slide for a populace of 68,000. Really? Boring.

I notice that the same people get elected year after year after year, including the education board. They just keep switching seats around like musical chairs.

This is what happens to a city when it becomes stagnant and stale. They line their pockets and give themselves hefty raises, but do nothing to improve your city.

I have seen nothing but a Walmart be introduced into this city in the 10 years I have lived here. Oh, whoopee, more shopping.

As if the one mall we have here isn't lame enough.

Where is your roller skating rink, ice rink, Scandias (Amusement Park), laser tag or a mini-golf place? And do not tell me that the mini-golf place in south Yuba City is it ...

Where is the fun in this city for the kids? The City Council must dislike families because nothing is geared toward the entertainment of families in this entire city.

You have to travel to Redding or Roseville for anything entertaining; you can only go to the movies so much before it's boring again. Why are there no fun centers for the teens here? I see a lot of people moving out of this area and it is not because the housing is high here because it isn't.
