Red Cross offers preparedness class
The Three Rivers Chapter American Red Cross is offering a personal emergency preparedness class Wednesday.
Free and open to the public, the class is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at 2125 E. Onstott Road, Yuba City.
Topics include how to prepare a disaster supplies kit and a family disaster plan in case residents must evacuate their home or stay in their home for several days due to a disaster.

Spa Therapy offers free seminars
Spa Therapy Wellness Center will host a free seminar series on the regeneration of the nervous system and the digestive system Wednesdays through November in Yuba City.
The seminars are from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, and Nov. 11, 18 and 25 at 1528 Plumas Court.

Sutter North offers free eye screening
A free diabetic eye screening is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Sutter North Medical Foundation's Ophthalmology Department, 460 Plumas St., Yuba City.
Dr. Pranav Amin will provide the service.
Appointments are needed. Participants should call 749-3510.
Because the eye exam includes dilation of the eyes, patients must bring someone to drive them home afterward.

FRHG observed Pastoral Care Week
Hot chocolate, hot tea, an information booth, seminar and luncheon were part of Fremont-Rideout Health Group's observance of Pastoral Care Week Oct. 25 to 31.
The observance included a seminar and luncheon Wednesday at the Fremont-Rideout Conference Center in Yuba City. Topics included H1N1, chronic diseases, childhood injury prevention and disaster preparedness.
