Chamber Chat: April 27
City needs public input
There will be a special meeting for stakeholders and public input at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the city council chambers, 794 Third St. This meeting is being held to assist the City of Corning in constructing a hazard mitigation strategy.
A complete public survey form is located on the City's website at www.corning.org. Community participation and input, a vital key to the plan's success, will be discussed during this meeting.

Drug Take-Back Day
Corning Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and/or unwanted prescription drugs.
Medications can be disposed of from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the police department, 774 Third St. The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.
Turn in electronics
An E-Waste collection event will run from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday April30, at Corning Park and Ride, Solano and Third streets.
Recycle old electronics free of charge. Televisions, computer equipment, printers, microwave ovens, VCR and DVD players and other small electronic waste will be accepted.
Promote business
A free opportunity to promote businesses or events is available through the Car Show registration packet.
To include a promotional item - such as coupons, fliers, pens, key rings, magnets, etc. - bring to the chamber office at 1110 Solano St.; we will include them in the 175 registration packets available. There is no charge, but items must be turned in by Friday.
Listen to big brass
The Tehama County Community Concert Association presents the Presidio Brass at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the State Theatre, 333 Oak St., Red Bluff.
The Presidio Brass, from San Diego, is considered a dynamic force in American brass chamber music.

Bowlers' carnival is back
The Annual Youth Bowler's Carnival will take place from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at North Side Park, 1414 Colusa St.
There will be live DJ, dunk tank and over 28 carnival games.
This fundraiser aids youth bowlers in attending the state tournament in Pinole and Albany. For more information contact Bev Martini at 824-3500.
Picking olives
Mark calendars for free olive oil tasting and mill tours from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, May 12, at Lucero Olive Oil, 2120 Loleta Ave. Also, enter to have an olive placed in the vat to be plucked; grand prize is $1000, second prize is $500, and third prize is$250.
Tickets are $25 for a chance to win, and will be available at the chamber, as well as at the door.
All proceeds benefit Destination Tehama's Branding Effort.
