More rain, cold front headed for Yuba-Sutter
Yuba-Sutter is expected to be hit with another storm system today that will continue into the weekend, although it won't be as severe its predecessor.
Up to a quarter-inch of rain was expected to fall earlier this morning as a storm traveling south along the West Coast pushes a cold front inland. Rain is likely throughout the rest of today.
There is also a "real slim" chance of a thunderstorm, meteorologist Darren Cleave said.
The surrounding area will receive showers off and on that will continue into, and possibly through, the weekend, Cleave said, adding that flooding isn't looking like a concern this time around.
The latest storm is coming from a colder direction than the ones that hit the area a few weeks ago.
Therefore, Cleave said the region will experience lower temperatures.
"Highs will be struggling to reach 50 (today) and Thursday," he said, adding that lows should settle in the upper 30s.
At this time of year, average highs are about 55 degrees.
