Yuba College baseball falls to Marin

The Yuba College baseball team suffered its first defeat in Bay Valley Conference play with a 3-1 loss in Kentfield to College of Marin.

Marin is ranked No. 4 in the latest California Community College Baseball Coaches Association poll.

Yuba, ranked No. 13, scored its lone run in the top of the ninth inning on Tyler Kreditor's groundout, which allowed Dustyn Macaluso to score.

The 49ers (9-6, 2-1) amassed just six hits. Ethan McGill led Yuba by going 2 for 4.

Marin starter Will White pitched eight shutout innings and struck out eight 49ers with just one walk.

Yuba right-hander Michael Frantz fell to 2-3 on the season as he allowed three earned runs over seven innings.

The Mariners picked up eight hits on Frantz, who struck out five batters and didn't walk anybody.

The Niners continue BVC play on Thursday at Napa Valley College.
