New doctor planting his feet here
A new doctor is coming to Corning. A podiatrist to be exact.
Dr. Byron Carrasco is opening an office at 175 Solano St. and is welcomed by the Corning Healthcare District, said District Manager Shirley Fay.
Carrasco graduated from New York College of Podiatric Medicine and specializes in podiatric foot and ankle surgery.
"I am a firm believer in the value of individuality and diversity of patients," said Carrasco in a statement. "My personal goal is to help each person maintain the best possible quality of life."
Fay said the new doctor will be a welcome treasure to patients in the southern part of the county who previously had to find a way to travel to Chico or as far as Redding to see a podiatrist.
Carrasco specifically studied Diabetic Foot Disorder and foot surgery.
"His ability to speak both English and Spanish is an asset to our community," said Guadalupe Green, president of Corning Healthcare District. "We are excited that he is coming to Corning.
