Injury in truck stop crash

A Corning man was injured when the Acura he was driving struck a pickup that pulled out in front of him from the Loves Truck Stop parking lot onto South Avenue, Corning police said.

Devan Whitlock of Corning was pulling out of the truck stop about 8 a.m. Tuesday in a Chevrolet Z71 when a big rig traveling west on South stopped in the right-hand lane.

As Whitlock continued out onto South Avenue, his view blocked by the big rig, he pulled into the path of Raul Carrillo, of Corning, driving a Acura westbound on South. Carrillo's Acura struck Whitlock's pickup on the front driver's side.
