Letter: Wirtschafter has strong character

I am writing this letter in support and endorsement for Ben Wirtschafter for Yuba County Superior Court judge. Based on my 48 years of experience in the criminal justice system as a resident of Yuba County, I can attest to Ben's qualifications and professionalism for this critically important position.

During my tenure as Marysville Police Chief, Ben, as a city council member, was very supportive in efforts to combat serious criminal activity including gang violence and development of programs to assist our community youth and prevent juvenile crime.

Ben is a Yuba County resident who works in our county serving as our public defender, an essential component of the criminal justice system.

He has been active in volunteer community efforts and is committed to make our county a better place to live and work.

Ben is very experienced in criminal justice matters and most importantly his character and ethics are beyond reproach. Ben owes nothing to any special interest group or organization. He can be trusted to administer justice in a fair and impartial manner as our Superior Court Judge.
