Sullenger supported in Sutter supervisor race
A former Sutter County supervisor, and two competitors in the District 1 race earlier this year, have endorsed Ron Sullenger in the runoff for the Sutter County Board of Supervisors' seat for the north part of the county.
Lal Chima, who finished third in the six-person race in June, confirmed he has endorsed Sullenger, as have former Supervisor Joe Benatar and former candidate Maria Heredia-Sproul.
"We have a lot of the same views, in that we both opposed supervisors taking a pension, and we're both against supervisors being able to vote themselves a pay raise," Chima said. He added, he believes Sullenger's business background would also be an asset to the board.
Sullenger and Jeff Boone, both of whom live in Live Oak, are in the runoff for the District 1 seat, which came open when Supervisor Larry Montna chose not to run for another term.
Measure T opponents holding forum
The Yuba County Alliance for Property Rights, a group formed to oppose Measure T, will have a public forum on Friday to give voters information on the measure and its potential effects.
Measure T would put a ballot measure before voters whenever a potential project in Yuba County would involve rezoning land defined as agricultural or open space.
The forum will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday at the Veterans Memorial Center, 17th and B streets in Marysville.
