Letter: Pilots fly to Colusa for cheap fuel

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

It seems as though the brain surgeons in charge of pricing the cost of aviation gas at Sutter County Airport in Yuba City are once again working for Colusa County in that our prices are 41 cents per gallon higher than that at the Colusa County airport.

A few years ago they were wondering why so little fuel was sold at Sutter County and at meeting decided that being a little bit competitive price-wise might help. They tried and it worked, but it seems the powers that be are more afraid of wearing out the fuel pumps than they are in helping to defray the increasing costs (due to new management) of operating the airport.

It's just amazing how many of the aircraft hangared at Sutter County fly over to Colusa for their fuel.

Rescind it. Now is not the time.
Give it to her. She should be compensated fairly and competitively.
